If you were to ask, some people may say I have a teensy weensy bit of OCD. Alright, I am lying. I totally know I have some problems but admitting it is always the first step right? If you were to look in my refrigerator everything would be in its spot, facing out (Unless Matt put it back, because he clearly does not realize everything has a specific spot.) All of our clothes in our closets are arranged by style and sometimes even color. Books, movies, toys...they all have to be going from largest to smallest. I was the girl in school who would go home and rewrite (sometimes more than once) all my notes I took in class so that it was all written out perfectly. It sometimes took me hours. Then I would go to school 30 minutes early the morning of an exam and cram, usually getting me a B or C...if I was lucky. Apparently it didn't bother me as long as my notebook was full of page after page of neatly written words. Ahhhh, the thought just makes me smile now.
Along with this "little issue" I may have is food. I do not like when my foods touch. Period. Until recently, I would barely eat a food that consists of more than one ingredient. Chili, gross. Chow Mien, yuck. Casserole, don't even get me started.
So here I was one day a couple years ago walking along the isles of my beloved Target and look what I just happen to stumble upon.
Cute? Yes. But does that have anything to do with why I got them? No. That's what other people may have thought, but me...I was like, "How perfect are these? 4 little individual spots, our children's food would never have to touch again, this could go down as one of the best days of my life!" Or something that doesn't sound so crazy now that I read it. Anyhoo, that's when it all started. My plate addiction. Now we have more of these plates then we will ever need. Here's just some, not including the ones in the sink, dishwasher, or our secret reserves...just in case someone comes and steals them...or they break, either one.
I'm really trying to not pass on too much crazy to my kids (okay, I'm actually not trying) but somethings I just can't help. I am totally up to the thought of helping them pay their way through therapy though , that's gotta make up for a little bit.
Anyone else have any craziness they are passing on to their kids?

I only count 15 there, but if you need some help getting rid of them, I'm available. Have shotgun, will travel.
wow, laura, i had no idea! i need you to come to my house. organization is not my strong point. i need a little bit of laura injected into my housekeeping!! my husband would be forever grateful!
You are so funny. I love that you are a little OCD...so am I, but I think you have me beat.
Hugs,
Mimi
Those are cute plates. I should get them for my kids.
I like people with OCD. They get things done. My mom was here once and she laid down to take a nap, but she just couldn't sleep because there was still more wood to split!
Amanda has a drawer closing obsession. We assigned her this job before she could walk. Now if she is running through the kitchen heading for an M&M treat and she sees the drawers are open, she will stop mid-run and close them. Everytime! My husband loves it because I am obsessive about leaving all the cupboards open. I don't like loud noises and closing them quietly takes too long.
Oh my goodness...I DO NOT like my food to touch either. My husband will tease me and push a pea so it is touching something else on my plate and I HATE it. I don't know what it is, but I love when I get asked to bring disposable plates for any gathering, becasue they are always divided. Now, my kids on the other hand love to mix their food, sometimes I think just to make my skin crawl.
I loved this post...
thanks for stopping by my blog! i have a good friend who LOVES cake and ice cream but HATES it when the ice cream starts to melt into the cake. so she woofs down the ice cream so it won't melt and the cake and ice cream won't mix! i think you are hysterical. but definitely NOT alone.
Thanks for reading my blog :) It is always fun to "meet" other moms.
I tend to be a little OCD about certain things. For example, I HAVE to have a clean kitchen or else I can't function. :)
Have a great weekend!
What part of my craziness am I NOT passing on is more like the question!
Blessings!
Amanda
thats soo funny.. im the exact same way, well i dont mind if my food touches.. but cleaning and organizing.. yep thats me.. i have the same kid plates.. my hubby thinks im crazy.. if they are out side playing/working they have to take a shower before the cam come through the house.. my hubby is the worse.. he likes to shove dirty clothes in odd places when our laundry room is right there.. i hate clutter and... i totally have ocd... but you know what... i dont care... i became that way after i had kids.. and i feel so much better knowing they have a nice clean house to play in.. oh yea.. and i dont allow shoes in the house..
I just wrote on someone's blog today about my tendency to lock the door at work and then check it not 5 times - but often 6 or 7 - OCD much?? ;-) I used to be uber organized. Not so much any more (unfortunately)
Oh wow, I think we could be best friends!! I don't mind my food touching, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE organization! Several times a week my hubby will come home and ask if I've had a good day and my answer will be "yes, I had a great day, I reorganized (insert whichever closet or drawer that was bugging me that day!) He always laughs but there is nothing better than a well organized closet!! :)
I'm so glad I got to meet you today! Your kids are adorable! Hopefully there will be more playdates and we'll get a chance to chat even more!

Can I have some of your organization skills...I need a few...or not to be employed full time so I could have the time to ORGANIZE.
