Yesterday was definitely one of those days. I hate having those days. Even worse is when you don't know why you're having one of those days. I think it was just a whole bunch of little things that finally got to me. There was laundry taking over my house. My kitchen was dirty. There was shoes all over our messy entryway. The kids were going crazy...yelling, jumping on the bed, coloring on the floor. I didn't feel like making dinner. I hadn't showered in almost 2 days. And I just felt lonely. I know it's because of the weather. In the summer we are out every single day but since it has been freezing cold here we haven't gotten out much and I just get that isolated feeling. And I hate that feeling. (Most days) there's nowhere I would rather be. I love being home with my kids, I also have an awesome supportive family and great friends. Why would I feel lonely? It's silly. Matt is so busy with work and I hate calling him all the time but sometimes I just have to talk to an adult. So I call him again...for the 3rd time. No answer. He's busy...which I praise God for, I am very thankful he has a wonderful safe job. Also, there is still toys all over my house, I don't know what to do with all of them. I hate picking them up all day long. Alexa always wants to play games and Braden wants to eat the game pieces, so in the end, everyone just gets frustrated. I have felt nauseous for two and a half weeks straight, I wake up feeling sick every day which is never a good thing. I am pretty sure it's because of a new med I am on and I have two more weeks before I go back to the doctor for it. And to top everything off, it's my birthday on Friday and between work and school Matt will be gone all day. I know it shouldn't matter, it's just a birthday and it's not that big of a deal but I think it just goes back to the lonely thing. I can't wait until he is done with school.
So see...nothing horrible happened, everyone is healthy, we have a home, food and more toys than we need. :) I just hate being in a bad mood so when I am in a bad mood I think it puts me in a more bad mood because I hate feeling like that. Make any sense? Probably not! :)
Anyway it was just one of those overwhelming days. I'm not the only one that has those, right!? :)
So just as I was about to sit down and have a pity party for myself and maybe even cry...Alexa crawls up on my lap, puts her hands on my face and tells me, "I love you sweetie!"
And then gives me a big kiss.
THEN she says, "Happy Mother's Day Mom!"
I totally ended up crying but for a whole different reason.
Then all was well in the world again.

so sorry you had one of THOSE days! we all have them.. so I totally understand what you are talking about.
I think thats why I rely so heavy on the blogging world sometimes... I am cooped up in the house with two kiddos..we all need adult talk and we all need to get out every now and then. Good thing its warming up soon! Hang tight girlie!
Oh, Laura! Everyone DOES have those days. The blues. And it's been so cold and WHITE and blah. It's easy to feel lonely!
Aren't kids the best, though? They can snuggle up and get right to our hearts...especially when they're little enough to crawl up on our laps?
I hope today is better. Hugs and prayers to you. I mean it!
I have been having a lot of those days and I know how you feel- you feel bad for feeling bad because really everything that is important- you have. But it still it does not make those bad days any better! We are so lucky to have little ones that put it all into prospective for us. Happy Mothers Day! haha
You are not the only one that has those days, My oldest is 10 the twins are 7 and I still have those days, even with the kids in school its still the same old same every day. Pick up, Put up, Laundry, and then the kids come home drag it all out and we start all over!! But the up side is its not everyday, there are a lot of really good days in between.
Hey Laura. I tried finding your email with no luck so I figured I would just leave a comment.
If you would like me to redesign your background please email me at lindsayintx@aol.com I just have some questions for you before I start.
And we all do have those days. Especially when it all hits at once. My husband will be gone for 45 days and so I have started two Bible Studies just to help us get out of the house and give myself a break. I just try to take it a day at a time and hope for the best.
I have those days all the time. I feel bad or sad and I can't pin point any reason for it. Just a funk...a lonely funk...I pull away from people. Then it goes away as quick as it came. Weird, but i understand.
((hugs))
you have a sweet little girl there too:)
That was the sweetest little moment ever. I'm glad it was the answer to your day! :)
I go through downs like that too sometimes. It's totally normal. In my case, it's usually gone the next day.
aww, your daughter is such a sweetheart. sorry you had a bad day...i have them more than i would like! my hubby is out to sea for 3 days...i know that 'lonely' feeling. hang in there and happy early birthday!!
xoxo
From the mouths of babes.. Soo sweet!!
I'm sorry you were having one of those days. YUCK!! Hang in there spring is bound to be here, just not soon enough.
It's funny- even when your children are more often than not the main cause of those downer days, they are also the reason you keep plugging along. It's good to write down those sweet things our kids say. Keep up the good work! You have a beautiful family!
Aww. I'm sorry you had one of THOSE days, but I'm glad you have such sweet kiddos to make it all better! :)
I had days like that too. Sounds like the winter blues! Sending big hugs to you. Hope you feel better soon! :)
I hate THOSE days! I had a string of them last week and they blow chunks.
I hope today was better. If you feel lonely, just come looking for us imaginaryfriends, but mostly me because i'm the nicest, but don't tell the other's i said so or i'll deny it.
You are definitely not alone! I'm having one of those WEEKS! lol. It's totally the weather, too. That doesn't help at all! Lately I've only been leaving the house to bring Caleb to school & that's it! I am in serious need of some adult conversation!
And Alexa....what a sweetie! I love how they can brighten any day, no matter how bad of a day it is!
Sorry you had one of those days. I know a lot of people are right now because of the weather. It's getting old, huh? Hang in there, friend. Every day is a new day :-)
Sorry to hear about your day! I have a lot of them too. Mark is also busy at work so I try not to call but sometimes I just need an adult to talk to!!!
And I compare picking up kids toys with shoveling during a snowstorm!!
Hope you have a wonderful birthday.
Your a capricorn just like me :o) My birthday is on Tuesday. Lets go out..ok? Just kidding, I know we are too far apart...it sounded good though huh? Maybe we can just have a blog Birthday Party for all of us January Birthday Babes :o)
I hope you are feeling better, we all have those days. I have been feeling really icky since Dewayne left last week. My best friend left the day after Christmas so now I have no one here to talk to or visit if I want to :o( It will be really nice when my Hubby comes home on Friday night. At least I can start leaving my poor kids alone...they are getting tired of me bothering them when I am bored :o)
Alexa is too cute!
i cant stand having bad days like that... its a downer..=( well happy birthday!! Hope you get at least some roses!
Oh, Laura...I am sorry you had a rough day. I hear you about this LONG winter. Sometimes being an adult is hard, I miss the days of sitting in the sandbox and my mom telling me it was time to eat, and had my room cleaned. Hang in there...But, on the upside for me, hearing someone has laundry piled up, too many shoes in the entry way made me feel better because I have the same things. :) If you would like, here is my email address, would like to email a few things to you...if you are okay with that...

Have a great night! Spring is coming...
Jen
I can totally empathize with you. I have had one of those days today...plan to blog about it tomorrow because frankly I'm too tired to do it tonight. Take care and know that you are not alone.
No, you are not the only one! I have those kind of days all too often. Is it possible to have a whole month of those straight? I have! I think it is the weather too! So glad we have had a couple of days of sun and 30 degrees but still can not wait for spring. I hope tomorrow is a better day and incase I forget (remember it is one of those months) to wish you a Happy Birthday on Friday, I am doing it now! Happy Birthday Laura!
Oh, and to answer your question, we live a little over an hour West of the Cities and I work in St. Cloud.
Have a great rest of the week!
Oh, I know those days. I think being isolated makes it that much worse. Then the kids come in... the ones who were probably half the reason for the mood in the first place, and make it all better.
I've been there too! Hope you have some better days!!
OOOHH, mama! i am so sorry that you've been feeling all of those things lately! BUT being the fantastic wife/mama/friend that you are, it is *bound* to happen every now and then. hang in there, hun! you are pretty darn amazing. and HOW SWEET is that little lady of yours!? that just melted my heart. happy mother's day, mama! ;) (((HUGS!)))
Awwww :( Sorry you had a bad day....I hate those. I just about teared up as well when I read what your super sweet daughter did to make you feel better! What a little sweetie!! I hope you get to feeling better soon!!
Oh Laura!
I totaly had those days last week. I mean DAYS. Exactly what you posted.
I've gotten here so I hope you are hving better days!
It so helps to get out of the house. And to have things to look forward to. That's keeps me going. My hubby has been busy too.
Happy Mother's Day!
And happy birthday birthdays sister! Hey, just think...you could be turning my age!
Yikes, That definitely sucks and I have most definitely been in the same predictiment.. Its no fun. Its like snap out of it, but you can't at least not right then.
So keep your head up.. things will get better and it seems it is, the weather is going up :) haha Hope you have better days ahead!!
Chin up Lady! I feel your pain! We are in a new town about 7 hours from the closest friends and family. Talk about isolated- I live it daily. And as much as I love Target there are only so many times a week you can make yourself go.
I'm SO SORRY Sweetie...I remember those days very well also!! There were times that you and Phill got me thru stuff that I NEVER would have been able to dig myself out of!!
You have been blessed with two VERY SPECIAL little people who love you more than anything...except maybe Daddy!! :O)
Having an off day is awful. It's the worst when nothing feels right.
I hope you're feeling better.
