For the love of Marshmallows

Yesterday was an exhausting day for me. I sat at the kitchen table for hours carving pumpkins. Seriously...cutting, tracing, scraping, drawing, cutting some more. My arm is killing me!

Okay, I can't lie to you sweet people any longer. I was in no part involved in the carving process, just the picking out cute faces to trace part. The man behind all the action was this guy...

Poor Matt had to clean out and carve 4 huge pumpkins all by himself. I would have helped but you know someone had to keep the littlest one entertain, so unfortunately I just wasn't able to get my hands dirty. Darn.

So he did get a little bit of help. Oh wait, is that Braden? What is he doing there, he is suppose to be keeping me busy so I didn't have to get my hands all full of pumpkin guts. Wooopsie. :)

Alexa helped out a tad too. Here she is "touching" the pumpkin. HA! I swear I am really not trying to turn her into a girly girl....I did ask her if she wanted me to touch first and she said she still wouldn't do it. So there ya go, not my fault. :)

Quick, get a picture....SHE TOUCHED IT!!

But mostly she sat and kept Daddy entertained while hard at work, which I think he really enjoyed! And, yes, those are wings she is wearing. Doesn't everyone wear their butterfly wings (upside down I might add) while carving pumpkins? No? Well don't tell her that, she would be devastated! :)

While not taking pictures I sat and drank my hot cocoa...since there was SNOW outside!! Crazy!

With extra marshmallows, of course.

And I thought, "hey, do you think the kids might like marshmallows?"

Do I even need to go there for ya'll? Needless to say, they were a hit.

There you have it. You are going to have to wait to see the outcome of the day though! Not because I think it's funny to leave you in such suspense (HA), but just because I didn't really get very good pictures of them and there is already way too many pictures in this post anyway, don't you think? :)

P.S. Do you keep the seeds and bake them? I asked Matt if we should keep them since there was probably about 9 million of them or something like that, but he said he tried them one time and they were gross. I don't think I have ever tried a pumpkin seed. Do you put anything on them? Salt? I don't know...

Fun at the Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday, despite waking up to a chilly 29 degrees, we went to Pleasant Valley Fall Harvest with Matt's sister, brother-in-law and our niece Olivia. Once the wind died down a little bit and the sun actually came out it turned out to be a pretty decent day. They have SO much stuff to do there, you could stay for an entire day and not get bored. We went on a hayride, fed the animals at the petting zoo, played on the huge playground, drank hot cocoa and apple cider, ran through the corn maze, sat on a tractor, wooden horse, and train, jumped in the bouncy castle, crawled through tunnels under bails of hay, played in the sand, rose tricycles around a big track and of course picked out all of our pumpkins. (See, I told you there was a lot to do there!) :) We had so much fun I wish we could find another day before Halloween to go back and do it all over again.

So not cool

I was just starting to like the whole idea of Fall...the beautiful colors of the leaves, hot cocoa, Pumpkins and sweatshirt weather. Then we wake up to this...

SNOW! I am not ready for snow yet! However, we thought Alexa would be excited to see it but she looks out the window and says "This is so not cool!"

Flashback Friday

A little flashback especially for Uncle Phill. :)

This was Alexa's very first Halloween, she was only 6 days old and apparently was not very excited about the whole thing...big yawn...

I can't believe how tiny she was and that same little peanut is going to be turning 3 in just a couple of weeks! Don't you just love her cute little Halloween hat...all the babies born that week got them from the hospital. :)

Five Question Friday

Since my husband is glued to the TV watching a baseball game paying no attention to me what so ever I thought I would join in on a little thing called Five Question Friday hosted by Mama M. Here goes...

1. What is the one thing that you reach for the most in a day (excluding phones and computers)?

Chap stick. I am completely addicted to the stuff. I keep tubes of it everywhere...bathroom, night stand, purse, car, kitchen drawer, diaper bag, other bathroom....seriously everywhere.

2. What is the farthest you have been from home?

Europe. Matt and I were very lucky to have the chance to go travel around Switzerland and Italy for almost a month, about 5 years ago. We went with another couple who knew someone out there so we were able to stay at his family's house and cabin which actually made it affordable to go. We had so much fun and I would love to go back someday!

3. What kind of cell phone do you have? Love it or hate it?

Motozine ZN5 - honestly I could live without it. It's probably more my fault that I don't like it that much since I haven't read my little book that came with it so really I just have no idea how to work the thing. Whatever, it makes and receives calls, I guess that's the important thing.

4. Coke or Pepsi?

I know most people have to have a certain one but I don't really care either way as long as it's Diet. I don't drink too much pop anyway so maybe that's why I can't tell the difference that much.

5. If you could go back and change anything about your wedding day, what would it be and why?

EASY...I would have taken my parents offer to help us elope in Hawaii!! What was I thinking? Matt will still sometimes bring up the fact that we could have been married on the beach with no stress or worries nor drama....Oh well, I really did love our wedding day, I wish I could do it over every year! :)

It's October...Oc-to-ber!

Is it just me or is this year flying by like crazy? Ok ok, I know every year flies by. It's just not fair. But my Mom always told me that sometimes life isn't fair. I guess she was right after all. Anyway, I wrote out all our bills this week and sent them out and now just realized that I wrote September on all of them. Do you think they will still cash them?

Probably.

And just because I love you all so much I am adding a picture of my babies, because I share like that.

I can't imagine life without these two! I can kiss them all day long and still feel like I need to sneak in just one more.

And then one more after that!

Have a great night everyone!
