More Park Fun

Are you sick of me yet? I am sort of on a blog roll, there's so much to catch up on. I was kind of on a hiatus and I totally blame it on Jillian Michaels! For those of you who have asked, it is great! The whole program is based on strength, cardio and ab circuit training. The best part is that it's not even 30 minutes and it's a way better workout than spending an hour and a half at the gym! It's only been a few days but I can only assume it's working pretty well considering I was unable to walk up my stairs. It works every part of your body, every muscle you didn't know you had. SO, I would give it two thumbs up overall.

Anyway....

Yesterday we had a play date and picnic at a new little park. Alexa had a blast climbing all over the equipment. I am still amazed at how well that girl can climb around those things, no fear I tell you! So I didn't get any pictures of her climbing all over the place, obviously I was following her around in a panic, afraid she was going to fall and break her neck. But hey, she didn't so it was a pretty successful day at the park. This time there was no mysterious band-aids laying around so that was just an extra bonus.

We did take a pit stop at our clinic on the way home due to some mother's intuitions. Braden had not been himself for a couple days and was tossing a turning the night before so I figured something was up. Sure enough, another ear infection. So we're back on antibiotics and he is MUCH better already today! I can only assume that there may be another tooth coming... Alexa was the same way, with every tooth came an ear infection. Isn't it funny how doctors say that they are not related? Weird how it only happened 100% of the time - for us anyway, apparently that's not a good enough percentage. ;)

A New Talent

Braden is becoming quite the eater these days. I forgot how fun it was watching a baby learn to eat by him/herself AND how messy it is! I remember having a typed out list on our cupboard of what babies can and can't eat and a schedule for eating when Alexa was this age, boy how things change the second time around. Although I am still very cautious about introducing new foods to watch for reactions, he pretty much gets to try out anything (excluding the things babies are not suppose to have, of course!) I can't imagine what and how our third may be eating at this stage! We have recently started giving him little bites of most of the foods we eat now, which is so nice...baby food can be annoying sometimes. He loves fruits and veggies and chicken which is good because most days that is what we eat around here.

Oh yeah, did I mention he likes cheese too? That would be a little piece under his eye in the last photo. He just LOVES being able to feed himself!

He also can drink out of a sippy cup all by himself. And I always know when he's done because he likes to throw the cup on the floor, you know instead of placing it nicely back on the tray. We'll have to work on that later.

A Mother's Love

What is it about a Mother's love that makes her look at this...

and thinks it's the best masterpiece ever made?
Like the get me a frame, this belongs next to the Mona Lisa kind of masterpiece!
Maybe it's because I know how hard she concentrated on getting all the colors in the perfect place.

Or maybe it because of how much fun she had squishing it around all over her hands.

Probably a little bit of both!
A possible future artist, don't you think?
Okay so maybe it's a mom thing.
Although Daddy was pretty impressed too!

Ohhhh The Pain!

Has anyone tried the 30 Day Shred by Jillian Michaels? I have seen her all over the place lately. I had a lady tell me she has never been in so much pain as when she did The Shred. Surely she has never been in labor for an entire day then had to push for hours.

Wrong, she had.

What an over exaggerator.

Anyway...

I just did Day 1.

There's a good chance I will not be alive to see day 2.

I'm not kidding.

Flashback Friday

Alexa - 1 year ago.
A year and a half old.
So funny.
So much fun.
And adorable as can be.

Looking back, some of what Alexa was doing...
Counting to 15
Knew all basic colors
Could say the alphabet
Favorite things to do: Read books, color, play-doh
One of her favorite words: "Hola!"

It's so fun looking back and seeing how much kids change in just a short time. This was such a fun age with Alexa, she just smiled and laughed all the time! She was getting much more of a personality and also realizing that she had a mind of her own.
