The Big Cut
Remember when I asked for advice on cutting Alexa's hair?
I can't tell you how relieved I was that most people said I shouldn't cut it.
I knew I liked you all for a reason! :)
So I decided even though I couldn't go for the cute little bob, we still had to get it trimmed a bit.
This was her very first haircut!
(Besides her bangs.)
I gotta say, I did tear up a tiny bit but more than anything I was excited to get it cleaned up and looking healthier.
Here's Auntie Shari doing the big cut.
It's so nice to have a hair stylist in the family!
(I think other people would maybe be uncomfortable with the crying and obsessive picture taking??) :)
Here's the end result...
I love it!
More importantly, Alexa loves it.
Still long and beautiful but much healthier looking.

He Did It!
Yesterday Matt officially graduated with a MBA degree.
It has been a long, busy and sometimes stressful three and a half years for him.
Now he is finally done.
Finished.
He works hard and he does it for our family.
I could not be more proud of this man.
Getting his hood.
And the moment we have been waiting for...the diploma. :)
Congratulations Matt!!

My Little Sis
Look at this beautiful girl.
That's my little sis.
She all the sudden doesn't seem so little anymore though.
She's all grown up now...I can't even believe it.
She is 11 years younger than me and even though I wish we had been closer in age it has been fun being so much older and watching her grow up.
This past weekend was her Prom and we went up to take pictures and watch the Grand March. It was fun. And I had a blast playing around with my new camera.
Here she is with her boyfriend.
Aren't they such a cute couple!?
And her dress was so gorgeous.
Here is the group they had for pictures.
They were all so cute and were having so much fun.
To be 17 again. :)
I love this picture.
Adorable.

Ham 'n Cheese Omelet Bake
I love egg bake!
It has to be a really good one though.
This one is a really good one.
Trust me.
I got this recipe from my mom, same place I get most of my recipes.
I'm not sure where she got it though so you can just thank her. :)
Ham 'n Cheese Omelet Bake
Ingredients
1 (10 oz) box Green Giant Frozen Broccoli & Cheese Flavored Sauce
1 (10.2 oz) can (5 biscuits) Pillsbury Grands Refrigerated Original Biscuits
10 eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
1 teaspoon dry ground mustard
Salt and pepper if desired
2 cups diced cooked ham
1/3 cup chopped onion
4 oz (1 cup) shredded Cheddar cheese
4 oz (1 cup) shredded Swiss cheese
1 (4.5 oz) sliced mushrooms, drained
(Note: We use the 8 biscuit packages instead of 5 and a dozen eggs instead of 10. Also I have used all different kinds of shredded cheeses, they all taste good. And one more thing, I don't use the broccoli and cheese thing because I am not a broccoli fan but my mom has made it that way and it was still good! Oh yeah and I don't add the onion either.) I'm not a big recipe follower, can you tell!? :)
Directions
1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Cut a small slip in center of broccoli and cheese sauce pouch. Microwave on high for 3 to 4 minutes, rotating pouch 1/4 turn once halfway through microwaving. Set aside to cool slightly.
2. Meanwhile, spray bottom only of a 13x9 inch (3 quart) glass baking dish with cooking spray. Separate dough into 5 biscuits. Cut each biscuit into 9 pieces; arrange evenly in sprayed dish.
(These biscuits looked weird, I accidentally grabbed some butter flavor kind. Still turned out good though!)
3. In large bowl, beat eggs, milk, mustard, salt and pepper with a wire whisk until well blended. Stir in ham, onion, both cheeses, mushrooms and cooked broccoli and cheese sauce.
4. Pour mixture over biscuit pieces in dish. Press down with the back of a spoon making sure all biscuit pieces are covered with the egg mixture.
5. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes or until edges are deep golden brown and center is set. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
Super yummy!
It makes a lot but it's also really good reheated. :)

Mom N' Me Monday
Monday already?
That means Mother's Day is over and I once again have to go to the bathroom with kids hanging all over me. (I took yesterday off as a gift to myself, apparently those locks do work.) :)
Monday also means it's time again for Mom N' Me Monday with Julie over at The Peanut Gallery...Exit Here.
In honor of Mother's Day (because I decided that I am going to celebrate all week) here are pictures of me and my babes on Mom's Day over the past 3 years. It's amazing to see how much they really change in just a year.

Happy Mommy's Day!
What a wonderful Mother's Day!!
Mostly because I get called Mommy by these two little munchkins...
But there was also another reason this year.
I would like to introduce you to our newest family member:
Isn't she beautiful!?
I have beenbugging asking Matt forever for a nice new camera and he came home this week and surprised me with one! I was just a tad bit excited. :) I would love to say that I have it all figured out already but honestly, I haven barely taken any pictures. I'm scared of her! We're slowing figuring each other out though and I am already signed up for a class. SO.EXCITED.
I think she needs a name. Any suggestions?
To Alexa
My sweet little princess, my mini me, my Baby Girl, the one who made me a Mommy. I was amazed how one tiny little person could change my world so much in one split second. I don't think I put you down for the first 3 months, I loved just staring at you all day. I love you more than you will ever know and I am so blessed to call you my daughter!
To Braden
My little man, the most handsome boy I have ever seen, the one who gives a whole new meaning to Mama's Boy. I secretly love the way you always want me by your side and I can never get enough of your sweet little kisses and the way you call me Mommy. I can't imagine life without you and I am so thankful God gave me you for a son!
To Matt
The most hard working man I know, thoughtful, loving, cute, and the best husband I could ever ask for. Thank you for making this day so special. I love you!
Also to my Mom. Thank you for being so encouraging, supportive, and loving. You are the best mom, mother in law and Gramma anyone could ever ask for. Thank you for everything you do for our family, you mean the world to us. Happy Mother's Day!
And to all the other Mamas out there, I hope you had an AMAZING day, you deserve it! :)

Girls Day
Yesterday my Mom, Alexa and I had a Girls Day and we had SO much fun! A day of pampering, chatting, shopping and all things girly. It was such a blast watching Alexa get so excited about everything all day long. I love having a little girl to do these things with!
Our first stop was for manis and pedis. Alexa acted like she had done this a million times before, it was so cute. She loved the little chair just for her and got to watch Tinkerbell while she was pampered.
Next we ran to the mall and then to lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings, picked by Alexa. Daddy was so proud! :)
After that we went to Claire's and Alexa got her ears pierced!
I could not believe how good she did and how brave she was. As we got closer and closer I was almost trying to talk her out of it because I was scared it was going to hurt her or she was going to cry. But she was determined and didn't hesitate getting them done at all. I was the only one who was almost crying. Once the lady was ready I moved back and covered my face and then heard the click of the first one followed by Alexa's giggles. Yes, she giggled! So they finished the other side quick and that was that. She came running over to me and and with the cutest little happy voice said, "Mom, my ears are pierced!!" She has been showing everyone we have seen since her new PINK earrings. She loves them!
After being so brave we celebrated with ice cream and some more shopping. I'm pretty sure my Mom and I were more tired after the day than Alexa was, such a little trooper!
What a fun day, we can't wait to do it again!
