A Little More on Baby B

First of all I have to say Thank You so much for all the sweet comments!!  We are so very excited about our new little babe!  I have been just a tad bit emotional lately and you all brought tears to my eyes with all your excitement and sweet words.  Speaking of being emotional (I didn't think I was so bad but don't ask my husband he might give you a different answer!)  So I had totally forgotten that Patrick Swayze had passed away until a couple weeks ago I picked up a copy of US magazine and there was a little "1 year later" tribute.  So there I was on the treadmill in the middle of the gym crying, totally not awkward at all.  Is there seriously a better classic movie than Dirty Dancing!?

So anyway, I am just about 12 weeks and our due date is April 10th.  We have a Summer and a Fall baby so the Spring addition will be perfect. :)

Here are a couple of the most common questions I have gotten so far...

How are you feeling?
It's funny that this is almost the very first question that everyone asks when they find out your pregnant...like they don't already know.  (Except for those lucky women who don't get sick when pregnant.  Don't tell me if you're one of those because chances are I won't like you anymore.)  So yeah, I haven't exactly found a nice way to say, "I feel like total crap so stop breathing in my face before I puke on you." so I just usually say, "Kind of icky but it should be gone soon."
It really has been a couple of rough months that's for sure but now that I am close to the second trimester I am slowly starting to feel better each day.  I am so thankful I have such an awesome husband who comes home and cleans up after dinner (and many nights even makes dinner) then plays with the kids and gives them baths all while fetching me saltines and water.  I was telling him a few weeks ago that I don't know if I actually feel worse this time around or if it's just because I am home versus at work.  With my other pregnancies I was working and could sit at my desk and eat my crackers in peace but now that I am home and have a couple very active little ones who don't understand that I am not feeling that great, I don't get much resting done.  I won't complain though, I am blessed to be home and love being here...besides I have been taking advantage of nap time and usually curl up on the couch too. :)

Are you going to find out the sex?
NO!  Well that's the plan at least.  I have always wanted to not find out and I completely agree when people say that it's the biggest and best surprise you will ever get.  Being such an anal person though I have to be prepared and organized so I just couldn't do it with the other two.  This time though we have everything we will need for either one so it is the perfect opportunity to be surprised!  Besides, it's a third so all we really need is a couple of onesies and diapers, right. :)
(Side note: onesies always comes up on my spell check, is it not a real word??)

What do you want it to be?
It does not matter, all I pray for is a healthy little baby!!  But honestly I want both. :)

How did you decide to have another?
Well approximately two and a half hours after giving birth to Braden I knew I wanted another.  It took a little longer to convince Matt though.  Don't get me wrong, he is very excited and completely on board with having this new little peanut and I honestly don't think actually having another child was ever that much of a problem for him but like I said before he is such a man and has to be all logical about things.  Like, where are we going to put the baby?  Well lucky for him he has a fabulous wife to take care of all the details and after some measuring and a couple phone calls we will soon have another bedroom in this house.  Voila, somewhere to put the baby. :)  In all seriousness though he is "ecstatic and very happy" about it. (his words)  He also said "it's going to be a walk in the park!"  (I don't quite know what he is referring to on that one.  Haha)

Thank you again so much for all the wonderful words and prayers!!

Onesie is tachnically a brand name. Talitha always comes up on the spell check too. I guess it doesn't include Aramaic. ;)

I always wonder about feeling worse because I'm at home, too. With my first, I worked and went to school everyday. I also threw up every morning and never ate anything. So maybe the second and third time around I tried to avoid vomitting and tried to eat better which meant overall I felt worse but was probably healthier. Just a theory.

I hope I get another chance to test it. :)

Ugh. Those first few months are blech, aren't they? You know, after you've had a couple kids, don't you wish you could go back and savor your first pregnancy all over? The fact that you could take naps whenever you wanted. Lounge around all day. Never make supper. Puke in peace.

If only we knew how easy it was the first time around. Like...like, being a teenager again. If only we knew how great it was to not have any responsibility, no job, no bills, no children.

Sigh...if only.

Glad to hear you are feeling a smidge better day by day! I am truly soooooo excited for you!! Must have belly shots, okay? please?

Yes! Don't find out! When I had my daughter it was such a wonderful surprise to hear the doctor say, "It's a girl!" However, when I was pregnant with my son I knew in my heart it was a boy. I just knew. I told the sonogram technician I was having a boy and she said, "Yes you are."

Happy for you!! Feel good. And don't be shocked if you hear Michael Jackson died, it was last year as well. Ha!

That is so exciting. It's great that you have both sets of clothes so you can pull out either one. I was one of those anal ones who HAD to know what we were having! Surprise...another boy!

Glad you are feeling better each day. It's hard when you have little kids around and you can't just lie down in peace!

I wish you were feeling better. I know, from all of my friends, that being sick those first few months...can about do a person in. Praying that you feel better SUPER soon!

Again, I couldn't be more excited and happy for all of you. What a JOY to be able to welcome another little peanut! :) You know how much I ADORE babies. Just wish I was closer so I could take advantage of some snuggles! ;)

Again, congratulations and I can't wait to see the "belly shots" either...just like Mama M!!!!

YAY!!! the third IS a walk in the park... well, comparatively.

i hear ya, sister, on the morning sickness. that's a huge reason why i probably don't want to have another bio baby. plus my husband works a LOT of hours, so he needs me - we all kind of need me - to be on my game. that and the fact that my bio kids were *horrible* sleepers (!!!) and i got up three times a night (minimum) until they were 18 mo old. and i was breastfeeding for 5 YEARS and am happy to have the old 'me' back. that's the great thing about being a doula - i can get my baby fix that way. but boy, i do envy those who sail through it all! :)

hope the icky feeling passes soon!

XO!

Crackers...that is what saved me during that first trimester!

When Henry was learning how to talk he would call a onesie a "one E"...now that's something when you say to child, "Can you go get me a "One E". Nice! We laughed and laughed and now we don't even think twice and just call them one-e's. :)

I am so happy for you guys! You & Matt are so blessed. We love you guys! :)
