Random Thoughts

*Remember when gas was under a dollar? I have only been driving for 12 years but I can totally remember paying 86 cents a gallon back in the day.

*I made chicken fajitas on Wednesday night for supper and I can still smell it in my house. Gross.

*Matt and Alexa went outside the other night to play in the snow. They had so much fun sledding, making snow angels, throwing snowballs and just being silly. I am sad I wasn't out there taking pictures of it.

*Braden went down for a nap a couple days ago completely fine and woke up with a full blown cold. How is that even possible? He has been kind of miserable and up a lot the last couple of nights coughing so much. I hate when kids are sick.

*The sun is out today...this is like the 10th day in a row it has made an appearance and it's wonderful! You can definitely notice a difference in people when the sun is out, people are much happier. I am much happier! :)

*Why can't people use their blinkers? It's not like it takes a lot of effort, all you need is just one finger to flip it on.

*How big are Perkins flags? They're huge.

*How come sometimes my kids don't even notice I exist until I am on the phone? Payback. I totally remember doing that to my mom as a kid!

*Braden my ex-kisser who now only wants to give fist bumps will so graciously all the sudden want to give me lots of kisses when he is eating and his face is full of food.

*I have had the same solicitor call my phone about 4 times a day for the past 5 days. They won't get the hint I don't want to talk to them and they won't leave a message either. Annoying.

*Why does Kleenex make their boxes so ugly?

*I have been doing a study of Daniel by Beth Moore. It is really good, I would definitely recommend it.

*Redbox is the best invention ever.

*The second best invention ever is the free cookies for kids at CUB.

* I gave up chocolate for Lent. It's a miracle I have not craved any yet. Only 38 days left.

*Why must my kids hide my deodorant on me?

*I am very excited for a movie night with Matt tonight.

*I am also super excited about a girls night out tomorrow. Dinner and bowling, FUN!

*Alexa has been extra sweet to Braden lately, I think because she knows he's not feeling good. She has been giving him lots of kisses and rubbing his back and even sang him Cinderella by Steven Curtis Chapman the other day while trying to make him dance. Those moments make a Mom forget everything else going on in the world.

*I have been obsessed with watching the Olympics. My recent favorite was the snowboarding...Shaun White rocks!

*There's only 29 days until Spring is officially here. I know that doesn't mean much living in the Midwest because we will still get snow after that, but it's a start.

*Have a great weekend everyone!! :)

Shaun White totally did rock! I have been watching it every night too. Loved seeing Lindsey Vonn win Gold the other night as well!

Sorry Mr. Braden has a cold again.. bummer! Hope he feels better soon and rest well tonight so you and him can rest!

Beth Moore has a new book out I want! I think its called "So Long Insecurities" not sure if thats the title.. but I bet it is awesome

Going to get a taste of spring for ya this weekend! Will take ya a beach and sunshines pic :)

I gave up choc. last year for lent! It was the hardest thing I have ever done but felt great to do it! Hang in there girlie.. I was super slack and did not do anything this year.. first year in forever.. shame on me! I should be doing it.. may jump on board a little late.

Now that this is like an email and not a comment I think I will end it by saying enjoy movie night with Matt! Have a great weekend :)

That new book by Beth Moore DOES look great...I've done a lot of her studies (love the David one) - but never the Daniel one.

I hate the smell of Mexican spices, too. It smells like B.O. or feet. Ugh!

The sun does feel great. I was at the post office today, and the lady said that when it was so cold and overcast, everyone was crabby, but since the sun has been out people are smiling again.

Have a great weekend, Laura!!!! Great random thoughts!!!

I hear you on the annoying solicitor. There is one that calls me 3 times a day. I am so annoyed!
Also, I loved when gas was that cheap, I could fill up my Honda for under $10.
Happy Weekend!

Yay for spring!! I can not wait! When does the snow really end for you???

Redbox is awesome!! Have fun with your movie night!

About kids and colds- I have no idea how that happens but it seems to always be the case! Fun. Hope he is feeling better.

I hate non blinker users!!!

I remember when gas was cheaper than that!
Answer the phone with a blow horn! I bet they don't call again!

Yes, it's horrible when kids are sick. I feel so sorry for them. I hope Braden feels better soon.

Wow that is alot of random thoughts...where to begin? Dinner and bowling sounds fun and so does a movie night with the hubs. I love date nights.
My hubs is obsessed with the Olympics too.
I have only seen like two cute Kleenex boxes. I wonder what the box designers are thinking?
I do remember when gas was under a dollar. Wow how times have changed.
Have a great weekend.
We are enjoying the sun today too. So warming and pretty.

Ug, I know how Braden feels. I went to sleep one night just fine, woke up with Swine Flu. I would rather have a cold. And I would gladly suffer his cold for him! I hate when kids are sickly!

Did I mention that I love your new background on your blog? Oh wait, I just did.

I used to fill my little Nissan up for $13 when I started driving 14 years ago. Makes me feel old.

Sorry your little guy is sick. That always stinks!

Blinkers! Please use your blinkers people!!!

Don't know what a Perkins flag is, but I've heard of it.

Love Redbox!

Good girl for giving up chocolate! You are definitely stronger than I am.

Have a wonderful movie night with the hubs and a fun girls night tomorrow!

My son is sick too! what is up with that? I hope both our boys are better soon.

Yeah, my kids don't care what I am doing until I am on the phone. I was really bad as a kid, I would wrap the cord (from the receiver to the base) around my fingers while, my mom talked. At least with cordless and cells kids can't do that. Haha.

Oh, I believe all mom's can relate to your post! That phone thing is a killer. The other night I was having a deep conversation with my sister about her finding her biological father, and my girls (who i believe are old enough to know better) needed every question under the sun answered. Hope you have a great date night with Matt and a wonderful girls night out! Post pics, and hey, don't beat yourself up for not getting pics of Alexis and Matt playing outside, we know the midwest weather will give us more chances for that. Hope Braden is feeling better soon!!

Fun post! I might steal this idea sometime. :) I'm doing a Beth Moore study right now too -- Esther. I'm only 2 weeks in and it's awesome so far. I did the Daniel study a couple years ago and LOVED IT!!!

Great Random thoughts! ;) I should try this!

Have you ever tried Netflix? Once you go with Netflix... you can't go back!! Mail movies right to my door, no late fees, 24 hour turn around, huge selection... LOVE it!

ahem!

Now that my daughter is 9... and using the phone more... I am going to 'interrupt' her for a few torture years! maybe?! =)

Stupid Olympics sucked me in too! I LOVE watching them... those crazy thrill seeking athletes!!

We are enjoying the sun too in Wa!

Good NESS did you ever get your random on. Love it. Hope Braden is better soon! I hate when mine are sick.

Oh, and you've just gotta love the messy mouth kisses. Could you imagine tolerating them from anyone other than your children? Like what would you do if your husband leaned in for a sloppy kiss with food all over his mouth. I'd send mine packing!

I think we might be related. I laughed so hard reading this. I TOTALLY think some of those things. The perkins flag really got me LOL

AND, OH how I lived near you. ALthough at this point I might since I am clueless where you live...so that I could photograph that BEAUTIFUL girl of yours HOLY moly...that red hair. STUNNING!!!

I remember gas being 89 cents a gallon. I also remember when gas was so cheap that you could raid a piggy bank and have enough to fill the car. Now you have to rob a bank to fill the car.

what is it with the lingering smell of Mexican food. I remember when we were trying to sell our previous house, I had made some tacos for dinner using Old El Paso seasoning mix and I overheard the prospective buyer commenting to the realtor something about the smell in the kitchen from what we were cooking. I was mortified since my house was immaculately clean :-(
