Midwest Kids Fest

On Saturday we got up and headed out for a day at Midwest Kids Fest. We have never been there before but it sounded like a good time, anything with the word Fest in it has to be fun right!? Yeah, we had a blast. Especially Alexa. It was cool because there was tons of booths where parents could get free samples and info about all kinds of kid related things and then there was a bunch of stuff for the kids to do too.

I was totally floored at how 'big' Alexa acted the whole day. Like doing this...

She would have never tried that a couple of months ago but she told me she wanted to go jumping and didn't even look back when I left her to get all strapped in. She about died laughing and had so much fun. I think the guy next to me thought I was a little nutso because I was laughing so hard too. Part was out of shock that she was doing it and part was because she was having so much fun. Isn't it the best seeing your kids have so much fun!?

Here she is petting a crocodile.

And a snake. Again...totally new for her.
She even told me to 'come pet the snake because she was really nice.'
Ummm, no thanks.

She also got her face painted like a butterfly. She sat so good as the girl did it and then wanted me to take pictures of how cool she looked.

Pretty cool! :)

Braden found a stand with balloons at it and sweet talked the lady into one.
That was all he needed, he was good the rest of the day! :)

Too bad they don't do this every weekend!

Laura, what a great family afternoon. I agree about how fun it is to watch our kids have fun. this summer my girls did a bungee jump like this and I swear we laughed as hard as they did. I love that face painting, bet she didn't want to wash it off. and, um...I'm with you, NO on the snake petting. :)

What a fun day! I wish we had a Midwest Kids Fest closer to us. So glad you had such a wonderful time. Alexa's face paint turned out awesome and don't blame you one bit for not petting the snake...yuck! But as long as the kids are having fun and learning as they go, I am all for it!

That is so neat. I wish they had something like that around here. I can't believe Alexa got on that jumping thing. That is a big girl. My girls see that thing in the mall and want to jump, but it is $10 for 3 minutes. Love the face painting.

Jeez I would've been terrified jumping that high (and to touch an alligator and a snake too)! You're going to have our hands full with her!

I loved your comment of laughing like crazy just because she is. When my boys really get going I laugh so hard I pee a little EVERYTIME!!! Kidding... kind of :D

You have such beautiful children, Laura. You should have another one. Seriously. Three's a great number. ;-)

Alexa!!! I am so stinkin impressed with you!! I have to admit that I think, outside of the face painting thing, I would have SO been as happy as Braden with just a Balloon!!! Looks like you had So much fun...when is the next field trip? I want to come...

SUPER FUN!!!!!!! I need to find one of those around here, only Charley just left yesterday so I will have to go it solo. Not sure I could handle all the excitement plus two punky punks- but I am willing to give it a go!

And I still covet your daughters hair.
